Step 1: What’s your idea?!

Have a cool or even weird new idea that you want to bring to life? Something that could change the way our society works, or even just something you’re passionate about? We want to hear it! No worries if you’re havin’ a brain fart — check out these Create30 Activities to help get those creative juices a-flowin’. And remember: there’s no such thing as a bad idea.

Things to think about: What problem does your idea solve? What supplies do you need to make it happen? How long would it take to bring your idea to life?

Step 2: Apply!

Tell us about your idea and how you’ll make it happen.

Each project idea must:

  • Be led by one or more high school students aged 15-18 in the Region of Waterloo
  • State the problem you are solving and explain your plan to solve that problem.
  • Be socially and environmentally responsible: we have a responsibility not to fund ideas that will create environmental or physical harm, or which discriminate against people based on who they are, what they look like, or where they were born.
  • Include a detailed budget and timeline.
  • Have a compontent that connects to the broader community outside of school (e.g. clubs or initiatives that operate solely within a school are not eligible).

Applications are due at the end of each month. We review all applications monthly and schedule interviews with all applications that meet the program criteria. If your idea can't be accepted, we'll provide you feedback to improve your application.
